About Us Tara Harper, the photographer, graduated in 1996 from Tennessee Technological University with a B.S. in Business Administration. While working for an accounting firm 8 years ago, Tara decided to take additional collegiate courses after work studying photography. These courses felt more like therapy than study, and Tara began her mission to start a photography business. It was definitely a dream becoming reality when Harper Photography was born in 2005. Tara is proud to be a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Tennessee Professional Photographers of America, and the Music City Professional Photographers of America. Tara currently serves as the Junior Board Member for the MCPPA. She is anticipating becoming a Certified Professional Photographer very soon. This widely-recognized designation consists of a lengthy exam plus a submission of images to be judged by a panel. Also, Harper Photography has been a member of the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce supporting local businesses since 2006. Tara is married to John, a general contractor and owner of Advanced Construction, and has a stepson, Peyton, who graduated from Wilson Central in May 2008. Peyton was recently elected as the Tennessee State President for FFA and will serve until April 2009. Tara also enjoys spoiling their two family pets, Tigger and Gypsy.
